This week Utahns for Carbon Dividends launched with a Deseret News op-ed by Kelleen Potter, mayor of Heber City, Bill Rappleye, president and CEO of the Draper Chamber of Commerce, and Dallin Koecher, executive director of the Heber Valley Chamber of Commerce.
"As a red state, Utah can be a powerful voice on climate. The time to join the national conversation is now: while the nature of national climate policy is still being debated, not when job-killing proposals like the Green New Deal are gaining momentum. Let's embrace this bipartisan solution and solve our climate and air quality problems for good."
The American Conservation Coalition has launched a Salt Lake City chapter and has already hosted a town hall with Congressman Curtis. He and Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy have both signed on to ACC's American Climate Contract. The Climate Contract has four pillars - energy innovation, 21st century infrastructure, natural solutions, and a global approach.
